Premier League – All time top scorers

The Premier League, often referred to as the English Premier League or the EPL (legal name: The Football Association Premier League Limited), is the top level of the English Football League System. Seasons run from August to May with each team playing 38 matches (playing all 19 other teams both home and away).

The Premier League has produced some of the best players. The most decorated goal scorers have also had a career or are still playing in the EPL. In this article, we take a look at the all time top scorers in the premier league.

Alan Shearer started his Premier League (PL) journey with Blackburn Rovers FC as a striker and played for four seasons with them, where he scored 112 goals in total before signing to Newcastle United FC in 1996. At Newcastle, he played for ten seasons and scored 138 goals before retiring in 2006. During his career in PL, he won many accolades, including three golden boots and one player of the month.

2. Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney started his Premier League (PL) journey in 2001 with Everton FC as a Centre-Forward and played for four seasons with them, where he scored 15 goals in total before signing to Manchester United FC in 2004. At Manchester United, he played for thirteen seasons and scored 183 goals before signing again for Everton FC in 2017. He played 2017/18 season at Everton and scored 10 goals. Wayne Rooney is currently playing for Derby County.

Wayne Rooney started his Premier League (PL) journey in 1993. He played his first two seasons with Newcasltle United FC, where he scored 34 goals in the first season and 9 goals in the second season. In 1994, he signed to play for Manchester United FC as a forward and played for eight seasons with them, scoring 93 goals in total. In 2001, he signed for Blackburn Rovers FC and scored 27 goals across three seasons. In 2004, he switched side and signed for Fulham FC, where he scored 12 goals in 31 appearances in a single season. The next season, he moved to Manchester City FC, where he scored 9 goals across two seasons. In the final two years of his career, he played for Portsmouth FC, where he scored 3 goals and he played his final season with Sunderland FC.

4. Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero started his Premier League (PL) journey with Manchester City FC as a striker in 2011 and played for eleven seasons with them, where he scored 184 goals in total across those eleven seaons. During his career in PL, he won many accolades, including a golden boot for 2014/15 season, five premier league championships and seven player of the month titles. The Argentine international is currently playing as a forward for the spanish club Barcelona FC.

5. Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard started his Premier League (PL) journey in 1993 with West Ham United FC as a Midfielder and played for eight seasons with them, where he scored 24 goals in total before signing to Chelsea FC in 2004. At Chelsea, he played for fifteen seasons and scored 168 goals before switching sides to Manchester City FC in 2014. He played just one season at Manchester City FC and scored 6 goals in the final season of his career.
